Dr. David Wilson

The Worship Center

Dr. David Wilson teaches straight from the Bible every Sunday in the Worship Center. You will want to join us at 8:00 am if you enjoy traditional hymn singing. And at the 9:30 am and 11:00 am service, you will find more of a contemporary feel as you are lead in worship by Dr. Jerry Newman and the Southcrest Worship Choir and Orchestra.

Bonnie Hill, Chairman of Bereavement Food Committee

"They were so good to me when my husband died. It meant so much to me. And because I can empathize with people in this pain, loving others well during this season of grief brings me deep joy. I know I am loving someone and helping them in an incredibly special way." Before the pandemic, the food committee would host bereaved families by providing a meal for them and their out of town guests after a funeral. Committee members took turns coming up to the building to prepare the room and help the kitchen staff."

“My joy comes from knowing that folks who want to praise God through song can sing out because they can see the lyrics. It brings me joy knowing that the people online can feel as if they are worshiping right alongside those of us at the building. “The Worship & Media team, choir, and orchestra are my Life Group. We’re a mix of church staff and volunteers, young and experienced from various walks of life. We pray, serve, and laugh together, and support each other through the highs and lows of life.”

“Pam Copeland shared that getting children involved and interested (in church life) early leads them to stay interested and involved later in life. We believe that allowing our children to see their parents involved in a church community while growing up will lead them to stay engaged in the church. “We really love children. They are definitely our favorite part of volunteering because they are so excited to learn about God and Jesus. Their personalities are so fun to be around. We can be just as goofy as they are and keep them engaged. They keep us on our toes!

“Our favorite part about leading this class is getting to know these members and their families. It is a joy knowing that these families get the chance to go to their own small group or worship service while their child/family member has their own fun class to attend and learn about Jesus! We met Sharla Tyson, who has a special place in her heart for this ministry. We have loved getting to work with her and the other volunteers. God has taught us so much through leading this class, and we are incredibly grateful for our group of people.”
